Issue: Creating a new tag while the list is sorted alphabetically isn't intuitive

As shown in the attachment, adding a new tag while the list is sorted alphabetically isn’t behaving intuitively. I remember trying a prior version when this behavior was better, I believe the user was carried to the tag itself, or the tag was temporarily brought at the top of the scrolled list.

One easy solution may be to add a window popup to allow the user to enter the title of the tag.

Tag trees are our biggest worry at the moment and sadly making it as smooth as we’d like requires an excessive amount of work.
